Reflexology

Many people ask whether or not they have to complete the Foot Reflexology course before doing the Hand and Ear course and the answer is yes, the Reflexology Association of Canada requires a Foot Reflexology certification either from RAC or from some recognized training organization. To see if you qualify, it is a good idea to contact the Association and ask how to proceed. Danielle

Katie asks: a client of mine wonders if his wife can have reflexology treatments during pregnancy. Can you comment?

So much depends on the person's state of wellness and health. If the person is fit, has good circulation from regular exercise, has been receiving reflexology right along and is use to the effects of reflexology, then yes, go right ahead. If she is not use to having treatments but is still very healthy, wait until after the trimester is completed and then do only light, shorter treatments. Once treatments are regular, continue throughout the pregnancy and this will help relax her and improve the circulation in the body perhaps creating ease of delivery. Everything depends on the person's state of health and it is always good to check with her doctor.
